2013 looks set to be a great year for Whyte, with the UK brand announcing their biggest line up of bikes to date including two new suspension systems and of course, a wider choice of 29ers. From race winning hardtails to trail ready full sussers, Whyte have a bike to suit everyone.

146 X1

The X1 is the top model out of the 146 range and is one of the first production bikes to be equipped with Sram’s new xx1 drivetrain, powered by a single ring up front and a huge 10 – 42 tooth cassette. A new brace in the centre of the frame has helped make it 11% stiffer from previous models.

As well as the XX1 groupset, the X1 comes with 150mm kashima coated Fox 34 float forks and a kashima coated Fox Float CTD rear shock. All cable routing is hidden along the downtube, including the housing for the the Reverb Stealth seatpost, making for very clean, very smooth frame lines.

T-129

The T-129 is Whyte’s brand new 29er trail bike. A new wheel size called for a new suspension system to create a similar geometry and handling to that of a 26” wheel bike, and so Quad 4 was born.As with all Whyte’s, the T-129 comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame bearings, to get you through even the harshest UK winters, or summers… Those looking for a more cross country orientated full-sus 29er from Whyte should check out the M-109. Whyte have solved the problem of larger wheels weighing more by creating their very own, super light carbon wheels, equipped on both models of the M-109.

29ER C Team

Continuing the cross country theme we have the 29ER C Team. Whyte’s carbon hardtails look more like works of art than bikes. A curved seat-tube allows for shorter chainstays to get the wheelbase as short as possible for more agile handling, while the bigger wheels obviously allow for higher speeds and easier climbing.

929

For those less interested in racing, and more focussed on having a good time, there’s the 900 range of hardtails with 120mm of travel. Top model, the 929 is an aluminium frame and brings 1 by 10 gearing to 29ers for hassle free riding. Meanwhile the 905 and 901 share the same high-end aluminium frame with a more traditional triple ring drivetrain.
