It is beautiful out there with bluebells everywhere, wild garlic giving the trails a summery scent and with some lovely sunshine keeping the trails dry and fast. Must be Bikefest time soon. In fact it is less than one month to go now… with the Ritchey Bristol Bikefest powered by Heritage Volkswagen returning to the trails of Ashton Court, Bristol on the 11-12th June 2016.

Bristol Bike Fest

Bristol Bike Fest – Ashton Court, Bristol, 11-12th June 2016

We are going to take a break, before we get into any details on the upcoming event here’s a quick update from our end:

After running the Bikefest for the last 15 years we have decided to take a break. So if you have been part of the ‘Fest’ over the last 15 years and liked (partly or all of it) what we did then make sure you don’t miss out on what might be the last Bikefest in Ashton Court.

Entry update

The good weather has encouraged once again for riders to come out and pledge their allegiance to the Bikefest and have helped to fill up the various categories nicely. Solo entries have been closed for a little while but all other categories for Saturday are still available. Most likely we will have day entries available (please keep your eyes on the website for last minute updates) but if you don’t pre-enter than we will not be able to guarantee you the finisher T-shirt – so get your entry in now via our entry page.

The ‘Steve Worland ride singletrack hard & drink a swig of cider per lap memorial cup’ returns in 2016

To carry on celebrating the life and work of very much missed bike journalist, singletrack extraordinaire, Bristol local and close friend Steve Worland who sadly passed away the ‘Steve Worland ride singletrack hard & drink a swig of cider per lap memorial cup’ will return to the Bikefest and will once again raise money for the Psoriasis Association Charity which were chosen by Steve’s partner Jo and his daughter Holly.

Bristol Bike Fest Race

Cider and smiles are promised

Start of the event, which can be ridden in any team size from solo to ‘infinity’, is at 11.37am and we will once again have some great cider out on course for riders to get refresh and to toast Steve.

We need some more people for this event ’cause otherwise all the lovely cider we bought will have to be poured away – don’t want that now do we!

The Ritchey Reveller

Besides our mountain bike race action we also have the Ritchey Reveller Dirt Sportive taking place. The Reveller is a 60km long road and off-road sportive taking in some of the nicest corners of the greater Bristol area. Start and finish is at the Bikefest venue in Ashton Court. Expect a well marked course, feed stations at the start, ‘half way round’ and at the finish and some challenging off-road sections being thrown in the mix…so best leave your proper road bike at home and bring whatever bike you feel suitable for a little bit of road/off-road action. Details and entry facilities are on the Bikefest page.
