On the eve of Halloween, seven riders took the Rocky Mountain Blizzard to some of the UK’s gnarliest grasslands and sand dunes to test the new 2017 features!

Coming with new Maxxis Minion 4.8” tyres and Rockshox Bluto RL 120mm travel attached to a frame that has had the reach lengthened, the chain stays shortened, bottom bracket lowered and the head angle slackened – you have a true off road package on or off trail. The bike will go anywhere limited only by your imagination.

Taking on a challenging route that consisted of slippery rock laden rivers, deep soft sand dunes and cliff top singletrack, riders got to appreciate the new suspension-optimized design and agile geometry…and if their expressions were anything to go by I’d say the Blizzard passed with flying colours. After a season of riding trails and trail centres on enduro bikes the blizzard was a refreshing change to put that smile back on your face.

Designed to tackle any elements the blizzard makes the un-rideable rideable on or off trail. When the XC or enduro bike is in the shed, demoted as the weather has savaged your favourite local trails, the blizzard will keep you riding throughout the depths of winter skimming water logged muddy puddles, climbing snow capped hills and in this case some of the UK’s most breath taking sand dunes.

Dan Maker of Greenover Sports, UK distributor for Rocky Mountain led the ride and commented:

“This trip with the blizzard was about going back to basics. No real route, no sense of direction, no Strava segments just adventure, exporation and fun. The bike delivered this in bucket loads. It reminded me of the original reason I bought a mountain bike – to get off the beaten track and to have fun. They say the perfect number of bikes is one more than you own…well the Blizzard is your plus one.”
