Drop it! The notorious Garburn Pass in England’s Lake District presents a stern test to even the most consummate mountain bikers – and then, usually on full suspension mountain bikes! Here, Ewen Turner takes to this tricksome, rocky line on board a cyclocross bike and questions just how necessary all this tech really is.

“As part of the ‘One More Brew’ collection of cycling focussed creatives in the English Lake District, I produced this short film of cycling Garburn Pass on a cyclocross bike due to my renewed passion for riding drop bar bikes in technical and demanding locations, but also as a means to break with the normal way of thinking that hard riding needs the most amount of technology. By stripping back technology on our bikes we allow ourselves to become better riders.”

Filmed and produced by Dave MacFarlane: http://www.dmtwo.media digital media production, Kendal, as part of the One More Brew project.

“One More Brew is an open source attempt to build the scene, giving a group of talented creatives an identical brief with a limited time scale to complete their final piece.”
