It’s hard to find a freeride athlete with higher expectations from his equipment than Andreu Lacondeguy. The German tire manufacturer Continental is proud that the Catalonian bike phenomenon Andreu Lacondeguy trusts their black and gold tires enough to become a part of their extraordinary team.

The partnership between Continental and the Spanish freerider had the perfect start with Andreu’s strong 4th place in October at Red Bull Rampage in Utah (USA): A great success for the 23-year old given the extraordinary caliber of rider’s attending the event.

Conti has been engaged in the mountain bike scene for years and is already partnered with heavy weights like the Athertons, Danny MacAskill, Martin Soderstrom and Richie Schley. This partnership works two ways, not only as a sponsorship platform, but primarily to profit from the riders’ experience and knowledge in order to develop their products to the highest level. And when it comes to grip, Andreu is the man for the job!

For a big-air lover like Andreu (his motto: “the bigger, the better!”) confidence in his equipment is essential. And having the best possible grip on jumps of 25 meters or even bigger is crucial when gravity brings you back down to earth.

This year’s Red Bull Berg Line champion is looking forward to working with Continental: “Conti is exactly the right partner for me. I am totally stoked about the quality of the Conti products. I feel pretty good about my new teammates as well, since most of the Conti riders like Martin, Danny or Gee I already know and I am cool with these guys!”

From Conti’s side, the new member from Catalonia is more than welcome. Joerg Malcherek, Head of Marketing and Sales at Conti’s Two-wheel department “Bicycle Tires”, is proud to introduce him among his prominent Conti-crew: “Andreu’s charismatic character fits perfectly within the Conti team. We are all happy that he chose Continental and of course we hope to benefit from his know-how and his extremely high claims. I am personally looking forward to the first shots of Andreu together with our infamous Ulf.”

Anybody who knows about the proportions of Andreu and Ulf can be excited about the upcoming Continental advertising campaigns!

The Conti Two-wheel department is looking forward to starting a fresh season with Andreu as well as all its other athletes and wishes them a successful and safe season.
