Two editions of Trans Madeira powered by Cannondale are confirmed for 2022, taking place in Summer (31st May – 4th June) and Autumn (20th September – 24th September) in always magical Madeira Island, Portugal. The race will be back at one of the most diverse terrains on Earth where mundane is none to be found! The adventure of riding four seasons in one day and five continents in one little island makes Trans Madeira a ride to remember, a way to experience the culture, landscapes and trails that make Madeira a bucket list destination all year round!

With five editions in the bag, Trans Madeira had the pleasure to welcome 540 racers from 34 nations. For 2022, the race will keep exploring all four corners of the ‘Pearl of the Atlantic’, covering more than 200km and 30 special stages, limiting each edition to 140 lucky racers. The event is organized by Freeride Madeira, a mountain bike holidays company that invests in keeping trails clean, safe and beautiful all year round. The journey from East to West has it all: from tropical rain forests to open dry fields in the alpine, meaning that riders will have to adapt quickly to each new single day and stage. You like it steep? Fun? Flow? Tech? Fast and open? Dust? Mud? Luckily… Trans Madeira has it all!

“It’s been amazing to share this adventure with people that have the same passion for mountain biking as we do. Welcoming riders from all around the World in the place we call home and being able to see them racing with us in the trails that we’ve invested so much means a lot to us!” – Trans Madeira organisers
