Those of you who know Mondraker well, already know that they don’t make boring mountain bikes. It would simply go against their DNA. That’s why with more than 20 years of experience designing and manufacturing mountain bikes, all of Mondraker’s models are synonymous with ‘fun’ and performance. The new CHRONO DC range is no exception.

The name DOWNCOUNTRY with its initials ‘DC’, is not something new at Mondraker. The brand won several World Cup events with the F-PODIUM CARBON DC. The top-of-the-line, highly capable and top performing carbon cross country full suspension model in our line-up.

The arrival of the CHRONO DC in its two variants, the CHRONO DC and the CHRONO DC R, adds a little extra aggression to the range of CHRONO hardtails; the acronym ‘DC’ defining a very specific geometry and components mix, aiming for the perfect blend of fun combined with maximum versatility and performance all brought together in an aluminium hardtail.

The CHRONO DC is much more than a conventional hardtail. It’s a totally new frame from the ground-up in terms of design and geometry. It’s made from Mondraker’s STEALTH aluminium and features a more trail focused geometry than the rest of the CHRONO range. The head angle is 68.5 degrees (1.5 degrees slacker than the CHRONO and CHRONO CARBON range) and the fork travel has been increased to 120mm.

These are the two core aspects when it comes to defining a ‘DOWNCOUNTRY’ bike’s identity, thus increasing the fun and versatility, both on technical trails and through increased stability when going downhill.

The component mix is another key factor. Both DC models come with a factory fitted dropper post and 2.4” tyres. To make the most of an aluminium hardtail, the dropper post combined with the DC specific geometry gives added versatility to the bike and extra confidence when tackling technical trails, while the Maxxis Ardent 29×2.4” tyres are a great compromise between rolling resistance, grip and comfort on difficult terrain.

To achieve a slightly more comfortable and less demanding riding position on longer rides and to provide you with greater confidence on technical trails, the stem length has been reduced compared to the rest of the CHRONO and CHRONO CARBON range (S/M: 50mm, L: 60mm and XL: 70mm). The brake rotors also get the DC treatment by going up to 180mm at the front on both models.

The new CHRONO DC range is perfect for riders looking for a next generation aluminium hardtail which is more capable on all trails, while being more fun and more confidence inspiring than ever before.

Both the CHRONO DC and the CHRONO DC R are now updated on Mondraker’s website.
