The Night Eliminator and the 12h Race in Tauplitz (Austria)
Tauplitz, Austria – July 2014:
After a two-year break, the legendary bike event “Riding the Hill” in the Styrian
Salzkammergut returns. The Salzkammergut of Styria is situated between Salzburg and
Linz. This exciting event is organized by Peter Lev and his Cycling Team Tauplitz. The
“Riding the Hill“ goes across the stage on July 27, 2014 at 8 o’clock in the morning in the
picturesque village Tauplitz. Because of the many MTB hobby riders, the “Riding the Hill”
event was shortened to 12 hours.
The MTB riders can expect a varied bike weekend. In addition to the 12 hours race it is the
first time that the “The Night Eliminator” takes place in Tauplitz. The tournament mode will
show who have the strongest nerves, the physical capacity and is able to start with greater
success. The public appeal Sprint Event is held on a 450 meter long circuit that will be well
lit at night.
The 450 meter long course provides a highly selective route with sophisticated height
profile and passages on asphalt, gravel and meadow paths. To increase the quality of the
race, the round course was extended by a loop.
Quality is kept high in Tauplitz and so is the driver’s camp slightly away from the food
court. As they say – “the power lies within coolness” – the riders can come to rest and
prepare to be the next Champion in Tauplitz. For cramped calves the Organizers offer also
massage options at the driver’s camp. The launch of the “Eliminator Night” falls on
Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 6 pm (qualification). The finals will then take place at 9 pm in
Tauplitz. For novices and juniors a 2 and 6 hours round race takes place. This 6-hour race
will take place on July 27, 2014 instead at one o’clock in the afternoon and the 2 hours
race starts at 10 am. The drivers “fight” for a prize money of € 1,140, – and both sexes
receive the same amount of money! A registration for the race is still possible on the website of the
Cycling Team Tauplitz! The Austrian Reggae-Rock Band “Hill Stream” provides for
the musical entertainment at the award ceremony in the marque. Chilly vernacular texts
in rock sound await you at the “Riding the Hill” bike event in Tauplitz.
