Hutchinson have launched their new enduro / gravity-orientated tyre – the Griffus, designed primarily for use on dry, rocky trails. Available in both 27.5″ and 29″ as well as both 2.4 and 2.5, these tyres should provide plenty of support and grip on burly terrain.

Weight-wise, the 2.4″ model starts at around 930 grams per tyre which is in the ball park for a tyre of this size / intended use. There are subtle differences too between the different versions, the smaller 2.4″ model features lower profile knobs as well as a different central tread pattern to improve rolling resistance, with the 2.5″ model aimed squarely at rides looking for uncompromising levels of grip and confidence in gnarly terrain. The tyres themselves will retail for £45.95 each.

As you would expect, the tyres are all Tubeless Ready and are even rated as e-bike compatible such is the strength of their casing. We should be getting a pair into test shortly and will report back on them in due course.
