The Red Bull Pump Track World Championships is arriving in the United Kingdom this weekend as the series of the exhilarating BMX discipline continues across the globe. Hosted across Friday 16th and Saturday 17th of August at North Lanarkshire’s Wishawhill Wood Pump Track. The two days will see a mix of riders take on rolling jumps and banked turns to gain momentum and attack the track as fast as possible.

Registration and free practice at Craigneuk track is open on Friday from 2-7pm and re-opens the following day from 9am-12pm. At 1 pm the timed runs commence, with the knock-outs to follow from 5 pm and the award ceremony taking place after 7 pm. Competitors at the UK’s Red Bull Pump Track World Championships will race in timed runs, in a head to head format along the 260m asphalt pump track constructed by globally acclaimed pump track and bike park builders, Velosolutions.

Velosolutions CEO and Swiss downhill mountain bike legend Claudio Caluori, famously known for his entertaining and thrilling World Cup course previews will be at the competition and on hand to provide expert advice to competitors.

The head to head pursuit format will see two riders start from opposite ends of the track where there are two timing units to record their finishing time. Starting with one foot on the pedal and the other on the ground, the riders will then advance around the track trying to complete the course in the quickest time to advance to the next round.

Each qualifier will begin with a seeding run from which the top 32 men and top 8 women will progress to the knockout heats. The top 4 men and women from the UK qualifier will advance to the Red Bull Pump Track World Championship Final held in Switzerland on the 19th of October, with quickest male and female receiving an all-expenses-paid trip.
