Staying comfortable on the bike requires navigating the ever-changing balance between the movement of the rider and the motion of air around them. Ride harder, the air pushes back with force. Turn into the wind, the refreshing breeze becomes your opponent, and the gentle drizzle becomes a cold shower.

For Fall 2023, 7mesh was guided by the concept of “In Motion” to build apparel that considers the relationship between the rider and the environment. This approach has been part of 7mesh design since 2015 when the Hybrid Synergy Jersey was introduced and, eight years on, 7mesh has carried those ideas forward, harnessing air to elevate comfort, breathability, and weather protection.

The paradigm of this approach is Airmap, the next generation of highly protective, air-permeable, water-resistant riding gear. Airmap uses strategically layered zones of three different laminate fabrics: waterproof, windproof, and air permeable, to control airflow to optimize performance. Uniquely, these three fabrics share the same outer face, and appear as though constructed from a single material. With five styles: Anorak, Jacket, Jersey, Vest, and Pant, there’s a choice adapted for the specific needs of every ride.

To complement its comprehensive range of jackets, jerseys, and thermals, 7mesh has also expanded its layering options with the long-awaited Ashlu Merino sleeveless and long-sleeved base layers. A high-Merino content blend that wraps superfine wool fibres around nylon cores, Ashlu combines the famous warmth and comfort of Merino with the durable stretch and recovery of synthetic fibres. Joining 7mesh first layer options like the Gryphon Polartec Power Grid thermals, and buttery soft lyocell-based Elevate Tees, the 7mesh base layer program offers options for every rider.

Reducing its environmental footprint has been a years-long goal at 7mesh, and every choice made in the design process and supply chain is carefully considered with impact in mind. For Fall 2023, 7mesh will begin high-lighting these efforts with a new ‘Reduced Footprint’ icon on key products throughout the collection. Key attributes like recycled fabric content, Bluesign and Oeko-Tex certifications, and PFC and PFAS-free construction will be highlighted as 7mesh makes continued progress toward sustainability.
