TRAIL CONNECTED.

The Chrono Carbon DC has always been a bestseller. It’s evolved and adapted to mountain biking’s changing trends and technologies as the seasons passed, and as a result today it’s more versatile than ever before. This new iteration embraces the DC (downcountry) philosophy, making it one of the most capable and versatile carbon fibre hardtails ever and ideal as an XC, marathon or trail bike.

The Chrono Carbon DC is the most radical carbon hardtail in Mondraker’s range. Its down-country geometry, 120mm fork, 2.4” tyres and dropper post make it perfect for training, racing, marathon events or even for trail riding.

STEALTH CARBON
AND A TOTALLY NEW FRAME

The Chrono Carbon DC has been redesigned from the ground up taking its cues from Mondraker’s high-performance full suspension bikes. The frame is made from Stealth Carbon and follows the design language of the new F-Podium, Neat and Crusher bikes.

The top tube emulates that of the new F-Podium and is a svelte, flat ex- trusion which flows all the way from the compact headtube down to the seat tube.

THE ALL-ROUNDER

Mondraker follows the same design brief whether while creating a hardtail or a World Cup downhill bike. The brand wants all of its bikes to be nimble, agile and engaging. Mondrakers hardtails by nature take that level of responsiveness up a notch, and the Stealth Carbon hardtail frames add a touch of extra reliability and lightness to the mix. This range of XC race bikes, led by the Podium Carbon with its “lightest carbon fibre production XC frame in the world” moniker (it weighs in at only 775 grams) have revolutionized the category and have always attracted riders who are on the lookout for a truly “race-ready” hardtail.

Now it’s the Chrono Carbon DC’s turn. It’s time for riders looking for greater versatility. It’s time to make things more fun. It’s time to prove that a hardtail which is perfect for cross country training or racing is also a safe bet for trail riding thanks to the downcountry specs that were considered elemental in its design.

THE HARDTAIL MADE FOR VERSATILITY

With the Chrono Carbon DC, Mondraker put the emphasis on its downcountry capabilities through design and specifications. The Stealth Carbon frame weighs in at 1.150 grams, going towards additional strength, versatility and comfort. Stylistically it follows the brands new design language as seen on other recent launches.

With a truly versatile frame which is perfect for everything from long days in the saddle or marathon races, to XC training and terrain that would normally demand a specific “trail” type bike, the Chrono Carbon DC brings to the mix components such as a 120mm fork with 180mm front disc brakes throughout the range, 2.4” tyres and an OnOff Pija dropper post on the R and RR models combined with DC specific geometry which is a whole one degree slacker than the Podium model.

The Chrono Carbon DC is without doubt Mondrakers most complete hardtail option. The key points to highlight what makes it more versatile than conventional carbon fibre hardtails:

– Stealth Carbon frame
– 29” wheels
– Forward Geometry
– 67.5o head angle
– 120mm travel fork
– 31.6mm dropper post
– 1x transmission
– Internal HHG cable routing
– 2x bottle cage mounts
– 2.4” wide tyres
– Threaded BB73 bottom bracket
– Custom fitted frame protection / 160mm Flat Mount / Boost 12x148mm
– UDH mech hanger
– Fidlock integration

ONE HARDTAIL = MANY TYPES OF RIDER

The Chrono Carbon DC is aimed at a huge range of riders. Its geometry and components, the 120mm fork, the dropper post and its 2.4” tyres are all essential elements that blend together perfectly to create what is, by definition, a serious downcountry bike. Greater versatility opens the door to a wider range of riders, and the Chrono Carbon DC is a bike made for cross country and marathon events by striking just the right balance between pedalling prowess, comfort and the ability to overcome obstacles on more complicated terrain.

CHRONO CARBON DC BUILDS

The new range of Chrono Carbon DC comprises 3 builds using the same Stealth Carbon frame in four different sizes: S, M, L and XL. All four builds come with a 120mm fork, but the top-of-the-range RR build comes with the outstanding Fox 34 Step Cast Float FIT4 EVOL Factory Kashima featuring 34mm stanchions for better tracking.

All three builds come with 2.4” tyres, 180mm disc brakes up front with 160mm discs at the rear to really slow you down when the trail gets rowdy. The R and RR models also come with OnOff Pija dropper seatposts offering between 120mm and 170mm of drop depending on frame size.

ONOFF HEADSET AND COCKPIT THROUGHOUT THE RANGE

OnOff takes care of the cockpit and headset on all three builds of the Chrono Carbon DC. Mondraker is true to its OnOff component brand and all three builds of the Chrono Carbon DC come with OnOff stems and 760mm wide OnOff aluminium handlebars. OnOff also provides the ever-popular Twin, 1 lock-on 135mm grips. The entry-level build gets a 6061 T6 31.6mm, 400mm long seatpost, whereas the top two builds, the R and RR, get OnOff Pija dropper posts with between 120mm and 170mm of travel depending on frame size.
