Following spectacular competitions in 2016 and 2017, and back-to-back crowns for American superstar and current World Number 1, Nicholi Rogatkin, we are delighted to announce Air to the Throne is back in 2018.

Air to the Throne will return as a Bronze FMB event, with a huge course, international field and prize purse of £2,500 – making it the biggest freeride mountain bike event in the UK and promising an incredible spectacle for spectators.

Confirmed riders (including home favourite Matt Jones) include Tom Isted, DJ Brandt, Matt Jones, Tom Cardy and heaps more. Who will take home the crown in 2018? It promises to be an epic battle for the throne you don’t want to miss!

If you read earlier news about plans for a Gold FMB event in 2018, please see below a statement from our organisers:

“After an amazing debut on the FMB calendar in 2017, delivering one of the most spectacular events of the year, Air to the Throne was looking forward to its newly awarded Gold FMB status. Despite its success and our best efforts, we are sad to announce that we have been forced to scale back our plans for the contest. Air to the Throne will continue to run as a Bronze level invitational and has already received entry requests from some of the world’s top-ranked riders. We will, of course, be working towards growing the event again in 2019, we would like to thank the riders for their continued support and can’t wait for another epic battle for the Throne!”
