Since its inception in 2012, The Enduro World Series (EWS) has sought to find the world’s best all-round mountain biker, with a calendar of hard-fought races taking professionals to some of the best mountain bike trails around the planet. And now, EWS is extending these incredible mountain biking experiences to riders as well as racers thanks to a collaboration with mountain bike tour experts H+I Adventures. This new range of exclusive holidays begins in 2020, initially with the island of Madeira and Finale Ligure on the Italian Riviera, taking riders to stage locations from the EWS, immersing them in the local riding culture as they meet the trail builders and guides who put together the races.

Sustainability is at the heart of the new partnership and these adventures aim to safeguard the future of mountain biking in these destinations. Enduro World Series and H+I Adventures are committed to providing a legacy for these dedicated mountain biking communities who put so much time, effort and money into delivering successful race events. As such, around 70% of income from the new holidays will remain in-country, to support local trail builders, accommodation providers, restaurants and the wider community.

“We’re delighted to be working with Enduro World Series, combining our respective areas of expertise to craft these new EWS Travel adventures and give race fans the chance to follow in the tracks of the pros and, more excitingly, to experience the wider mountain bike community and culture of these remarkable destinations,” commented Euan Wilson, H+I Adventures CEO.

New EWS And H+I Holidays

Finale

Finale, Ligure in Italy is the spiritual home of enduro racing, and on this new holiday guests are guided around the area by this year’s EWS Master Champion, Louise Paulin. Throughout the week, Louise will guide guests on pristine singletracks high above the Mediterranean and down technical rocky descents, riding routes that even the locals don’t know about. A highlight is the day of ‘Finale Classics’ riding stages featured in the 2013, 2015 and 2016 races, before joining a local family for a home-cooked lunch in their vineyard. Finale has fully adopted the mountain biking community and throughout the week, riders take advantage of trail-side cafes and restaurants and spend the evenings enjoying revitalising dips in the Mediterranean.

Price: from £1,950pp sharing, including 7 nights’ B&B accommodation, 7 lunches, 2 dinners, support driver, guiding, EWS goody bag, and transfers between Nice and Finale. Depart 30 May, 16 August or 13 September 2020. Flights extra.

Madeira

European, yet with a tropical edge, Madeira brings a keen sense of adventure to the EWS race calendar and this new unique holiday is a trip of a lifetime for mountain bikers. Following sections of singletrack built specifically for the race, and guided by the trail builders themselves, this is a holiday that immerses riders into the local mountain bike culture and helps to secure its future. Highlights include: weaving through endemic UNESCO natural world heritage forest all the way to the far south east bay of Porto da Cruz; riding the narrow and iconic irrigation tunnels carved through the mountainside; and an afternoon spent on the Classic, the iconic Madeiran trail, with a professional photographer for guests’ own photoshoot. Guests stay in a locally-run guesthouse and throughout the week there is a focus on enjoying the best of local food with a freshly-caught fish supper on the beach on the final evening.

Price: from £1,695pp sharing, including 7 nights’ B&B accommodation, 7 lunches, 2 dinners, support driver, guiding, EWS goody bag, photography afternoon and transfers. Depart 11 January, 20 June or 3 October 2020. Flights extra.
