The SIXC series of carbon components has been very popular, always offering a combination of lightweight and strength. New for this year the 35mm diameter option allows them to shave material off the bar due to the added stiffness of the new size. This has resulted in a considerable reduction in the weight of the bar. It’s the lightest 800mm bar in the test which is some accolade considering the company it is keeping. Again the styling is such that the fat middle section is kept to a minimum so the bar looks fairly “normal” on your bike. On the trail the optimized flex in the bar removes small trail chatter while the torsional stiffness ensures a precise and reactive steering response. Made from unidirectional carbon a matt clear-coat has been applied on top to ensure a stealthy look. It can be shortened to 750mm if you desire and there are lines to help you trim it to your desired length. Available in black the bar is rated for all-mountain, downhill and enduro duties.
